What’s the best time to post on Instagram?

The impossible question, the answer to which every social media user is itching to know. Unfortunately, there is no magical, universal answer that applies to everyone’s account. Each individual user has a unique audience, an each individual audience interacts with Instagram differently.

Among social media managers in the biz, evenings is considered the prime time for content regarding engagement. Fifty-percent of social media managers, according to Later, say that 7pm-9pm is the golden hour of uploads. While this can be used as a general rule, it’s important to delve deeper into your own personal Instagram analytics. Use the app to track your engagement. If you sign up as a business or a brand account on IG, you’ll have access to impressions, popular posts, times when your followers are most engaging, and the analytics for any promotions you choose to run.

Can Instagram post GIFs?

Instagram does not currently support the .GIF format but there are ways around this. Users can use Boomerang, an Instagram-owned app, to create GIFs. Users can also make a Boomerang using the IG Story feature, save it, and upload it to the regular IG feed. Another option is to use a converter to transform a .GIF file into a video format, which is compatible with Instagram.

How do I delete Instagram?

You can’t delete your Instagram account from the app itself. It’s annoying, but it’s meant to be an annoying process because let’s be honest, IG doesn’t want you to stop using their app. To delete your Instagram, you’ll have to log in on the web. Click here to get to the Delete Your Instagram Account page. Next, select an option from the drop-down menu bar as to why you’re deleting your account. Re-enter your password, follow the rest of the instructions, and click “Permanently Delete My Account.”

How do I deactivate Instagram?

Deactivating Instagram allows users to temporarily disable an account, while still saving all of the followers, photos, comments, tags, and content. Similarly, Instagram doesn’t let users temporarily disable an account via the app. Log onto the web version of IG, click the person icon in the top right, then Edit Profile. Scroll down until you can click “temporarily disable my account.” You will have to select a reason from the drop-down menu as to why you’re temporarily leaving Instagram. Then, continue following the rest of the on-screen directions, and click “Temporarily Disable My Account.”

How do I unblock someone on Instagram?

Tap the username of the person you’d like to unblock. Click the three bullets icon (···). Tap “Unblock.” To block a user on Instagram, do the same first two steps, then tap, “Block.”

Are Instagram Stories public?

Yes, Instagram Stories are public. This means that someone doesn’t need to follow you in order to see your Story. A user can simply click your profile picture if it is surrounded by the rainbow circle that signifies a recent Story, and view it. Instagram Stories are not only seen by your list of followers. The only way to make your IG Story private is to completely make your account private.

Another option is blocking specific users from seeing your Stories. To do this, go to Options > Story Settings and enter the usernames of those you don’t want to have access to your Story.

Are Instagram video views unique?

Video views on Instagram are, at this time, not unique. One view entails that the video was watched for more than three seconds. Video views also do not count loops, meaning that if you watch someone’s video and it loops around five times while you watch it, the user is still only getting one video view. If you go back to that video and view it again, the user will receive one more view.

Are Instagram collections private?

Instagram collections are private, which means that only the curator of these saved collections can view them. This feature is similar to Pinterest’s Secret Boards. These saved posts can be organized into category-specific folders but it’s important to note that yes, these collections are private and can’t be seen by other users.
