How to Wear Denim in Summer
Who says you can’t rock denim in summer? 2015 is changing that as all over New York City, I see variations of denim. “Denim” doesn’t mean just a pair of jeans anymore. It could mean a chambray shirt, a playsuit, a dress, shorts… anything! It’s quickly becoming one of the most versatile staples of summer, despite it not exactly being known for versatility.
Check out that acid wash two piece dress. That’s one of my favorite, go-to nighttime looks during the summer. I have a very similar dress from Urban Outfitters that I always gravitate towards when going out for a rooftop drink with my girlfriends.
I’ll admit, I’ll admit it. I’m still a total sucker for the chambray shirt look. I don’t care if people think it’s played out or overdone; it’s one of my favorite classic pieces because there are so many ways to wear it.
A denim tanktop. That’s like, so 1999. Actually, it’s so 2015. Denim is in you guys, I’m telling you. There is nothing you can’t do with it, even if it’s a faux jean halter top. Pair it with some black skinnies and you’ll look straight out a Gap ad. Ain’t nothing wrong with that. (Does anyone shop at The Gap anymore?)
That jumpsuit though. My faux jean playsuit is the bomb dot com. Not only is it super comfortable but I get countless compliments every time I wear it. It’s effortlessly chic, as most denim pieces are. Clean-cut lines. Visually pleasing. Flattering on everyone. You get it, right?
