What Did I Think of my June Ipsy Bag?
Is it just me or did June quite literally grow wings and fly by? I swear we were all just posting pictures of Justin Timberlake’s frosted-tipped hair with the words “It’s gonna be May” Photoshopped onto it. Next thing I know, BAM! It’s July and I’m a week late into posting my June Ipsy glam bag review. (Whoops! I blush.)
Dr. Brandt Skincare: Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner
This exfoliating mask by Dr. Brant skin is described as “gentle” and meant to “extract blackheads.” It is supposed to tighten pores, an after-effect I did not get to experience because there was only enough product inside for two uses. Also note that it goes on clear yet dries white. (I thought it dried clear so I was walking around my apartment completing domestic tasks. Unbeknownst to me, my roommates were baffled.) I personally wouldn’t by this product again. I have used better masks.
Pure Brazilian Miracle Leave-In Conditioner
The keyword here is miracle. I’m a big proprietor of leave-in conditioners in general, as I don’t use them too often. When I do get my hands on a leave-in conditioner, it feels like a luxury and I instantly see a difference in my hair. This particular product is infused with Keratin, which repairs damage caused by heat styling, chemicals, and more. It hydrates your hair, re-constructing any split ends and even keeps frizz in control. It leaves your hair feeling really smooth, which is always the goal with hair.
Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Foundation Primer
First off, I want to start my review of this Smashbox product with this: YAAAAAS! Will I be buying a full size version of this product? Oh, hell yeah. This photo finish foundation primer is translucent but don’t let its transparent appearance fool you. It’s full of vitamins A & E, grape seed extract, and green tea, which work together in a lightweight fashion to reduce wrinkles and lines and to prime your skin. This stuff is the sh*t.
tre’StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon
Sorry to be a buzzkill but I was actually disappointed by this shadow crayon, but not for the reason you may think. I’ve never had this happen before, but in packaging, there must have been an issue. The shadow crayon arrived without a cap. If this was not in fact a packaging mistake and just the intended style of the crayon, it’s severely regrettable. I didn’t even try out the product because I was so unhappy with the condition in which it arrived. I should’ve called Ipsy, but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and consider it a fluke.
Absolute New York Nail Lacquer
Again, I’m sorry, but another buzz kill. It’s not because of the actual product. Hear me out: I’m just very picky when it comes to nail polish colors and this bright turquoise color is so not me. According to the product’s description though, it is chip-resistant and results in high shine. I would like to try out one of this brand’s many other shades: you know, a test out a neutral.
